CPDLC - Falcon 50/50EX & 2000/2000EX (eLearning)

Controller Pilot Data Link Communications, or CPDLC, has evolved into the primary means of communication for operations in oceanic airspace. Pilots can now downlink complex route clearance requests, accept clearances, provide position reports, request changes in altitude of offsets, and even print messages. The automation greatly reduces the workload not only for the crew, but for ATC as well.

Course Objectives

This FAA-approved course satisfies the training requirements of AC 120-70 (as amended) and meets the international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Tailored to the Falcon 50, 50EX, 2000, and 2000EX, this course takes a scenario-based approach designed to familiarize you with FANS 1/A+, CPDLC, and ADS-C as well as European ATN B1 datalink operations. The course will take you through a flight planning phase, as well as a flight from Europe to cross the Atlantic. You will use the Falcon datalink system to log-on and communicate using the European ATN network, request and receive an oceanic route clearance using the new ATS datalink interface, and log-on to the FANS 1/A+ network and communicate in both normal and abnormal situations.
