Description

Safety experts estimate that fatigue contributes to approximately 20% of fatal aviation accidents caused by human error. Fatigue is inevitable in today’s 24/7 aviation industry - because fatigue cannot be eliminated, it must be managed.

FlightSafety’s eLearning Fatigue Management course helps pilots, flight attendants, and maintenance technicians understand and manage fatigue.  You will become familiar with the aspects of fatigue in flight operations to include identifying underlying causes and developing personal strategies to combat fatigue. By the end of the course, you will be able:

  • Identify contributing factors and causes of fatigue
  • List techniques for fatigue management/mitigation 
  • Describe the physiological aspects of sleep
  • State how fatigue affects Human Factors/CRM


This course explores the challenges facing both fixed-wing and rotary air crew who experience extended operations and dynamic schedules.  It includes role-based interactive scenarios that present you with an opportunity to use what knowledge you've learned from the course.  Each scenario is a short series of questions presented from the viewpoint of a pilot, flight attendant, or maintenance technician, where each answer you choose determines the next question.
